Doimnic Mac Giolla Bhríde
All the music on the CD accompanying this book was composed and arranged by Doimnic Mac Giolla Bhríde. Doimnic is an award-winning sean-nós singer from Gaoth Dobhair, Co. Donegal. He was brought up in the culturally rich Gaeltacht area of north-west Donegal and all his life has been an enthusiast of Gaelic culture. He has a BMus (Hons) from Dublin Institute of Technology, and an MA from University of Limerick. He is a well-known sean-nós singer from Gaoth Dobhair, and winner of Corn Uí Riada, 2009. He has released five highly-acclaimed CDs and a hugely popular children’s songbook called Ící Pící. He also directs two Gaelic choirs – one in Belfast and one in Gaoth Dobhair.
Dara holds a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Ulster University. He is a full-time artist and illustrator who works primarily making sets for theatre, TV and film e.g. Cré na Cille. He has also illustrated a number of children’s books, including Ící Pící and Báidín Fheidhlimidh. He also exhibits his own artwork from time to time.

Doimnic Mac Giolla Bhríde composed the music to every song. He wrote the words to: Polcaphonc, Damhsa na gCrubóg, An Bradán agus an Scadán, An Fíodóir, Sneachta ag titim, Plaisteach, Damhsa, Damhsa, Máire Rua, Plúitín is Plúiteog, Daidí na Nollag, An Domhan, Fásta, Comhairle, Oíche Mhaith.
